Run
Time System (RTS)
|
The Run Time System (RTS)
is the software that runs on the seismic
controller hardware, or on a laptop for the Portable Run Time
System (PRTS). It consists of a number of co-operating software
modules that manage a number of logical communication links, each
being connected by means of the Communications Subsystem to Data
Acquisition Devices. A GPS timing unit
can be used to synchronize the system to GPS time.
The RTS provides an operator interface for system
configuration, performs data acquisition and enables on-line fault
diagnosis to be performed.
System status monitor displays provide the operator
with a continuous view of system activity and alarms are used to
bring exceptional conditions to the operators attention.
Comprehensive data management tools are
provided that allow the querying of the data to generate reports
that can be automatically distributed via email or viewed via a
standard Web browser. Data is stored on any local PC, allowing routine
back-up by the IT department
